Large, flat, tarmac parking lot in front of the pool. Very good restaurant right opposite. Minute walk to the river. Found this place by accident as we were looking for a restaurant. No tourists, just friendly locals. Great parking. Quiet night. Lots of space. Restaurant upstairs is fantastic, good portions of tasty food at very reasonable prices! Even if you don't stay - try the food!
Oravský Podzámok: 78 📍N 49°16'7,6836” E 19°21'7,4664”
Parking lot under the main road; located on a forest road that was quickly closed to vehicles, so there is no way to cross except for a few half-turns. It's not pretty, but it's fine for one night and with a bit of luck you might even see fireflies.

Newly created picnic area. The table is set and has a capacity of 8 people. A small stream drives a water wheel and wooden figures move. There is also a large table and benches outside. Coarse gravel is currently being laid to stabilize the parking lot. Thank you for protecting nature and the environment!🙏

The best thing about this place is the spring. It's a small parking lot. There were quite a few cars passing by during the day when I was there. Quiet at night. Not so good for sleeping, but great for refilling water and relaxing.

A wonderful stop! It's a small parking lot where people come and go on their bikes all day, but no one is there at night. Everyone was nice and even talked to us. The view is incredible. Fresh water spring, we filled our tank and water bottles without any problems. Beautiful picnic area with a soccer field, chapel and barbecue. Please keep it tidy, it's so unique!

A completely peaceful night spent here. No services so keep it clean and take your trash with you! We asked some people at the ski resort if parking was ok and they said of course!

Very beautiful place and refreshing river. The entrance from the main road is hard to see and a bit dangerous. It is best to signal well in advance.
Podbiel: 📍 N 49°18'38.9628” E 19°29'24.8604”
Suitable for a maximum of 1-2 vans (smaller size). It is best to park just off the main road and walk the last few metres to check the site out first. There is a wooden shelter and rubbish bins on site (but don't expect them to be empty in summer). Busy during the day in summer but quiet in the evening. No caravan services. Dog friendly: Excellent for dogs - lovely walk alongside the river along the cycle path. Lots of scents, shade and safe terrain. No stray animals were seen. Please help keep this place clean and respect nature and the locals.

Large parking lot in the village. There were several cars and trucks parked there. Spacious large parking lots. Trash cans were available.
Tvrdošín: - Pod Velingom 📍 N 49°19'57,1872” E 19°33'7,7508”
Nice big asphalt parking lot by the river, no prohibition signs with a nice pedestrian/cyclist bridge to the center. The descent to it is quite steep. We didn't stop for the night, just to explore the city, but it seems very safe for sleeping too.
Štefanov nad Oravou: 📍 N 49°22'4,9728” E 19°32'42,6876”
Beautiful place with a view of the Orava Dam. The easiest way to get here is by road from the south. If you are coming from the east, I recommend turning off in the village, as the turn off onto the dirt road to the right is very steep. Recommended only for 4WD vehicles; not suitable for motorhomes, as the ascent is very uneven and it is not a paved road.
Štefanov nad Oravou: 📍 N 49°22'40,4652” E 19°33'12,0096”
Small parking space in the asphalt, just above the lake, under the road. We swam there right after arriving and spent the night there. Very nice and beautiful view. Very accessible.
Námestovo: Nábrežie 📍 N 49°24'22,14” E 19°29'5,568”
Free overnight parking next to shops, skate park and recreation center. The road is not far but relatively quiet if you turn towards the lake.

Jami Autocamp - Nice little campsite. Very quiet unless there is loud music from the nearby campsite. (On weekends) Toilets and showers are clean and have hot water. You can even swim right next to the boat rental. The friendly ladies at the reception and in the coffee bus are very friendly and helpful. Not suitable for large campers or families with children. The site is constantly cleaned and tidied up. 200m higher, a small ranch.

Great view. You can park in the first row with a direct view of the lake. It gets very busy at weekends with day visitors but otherwise it is relatively quiet. €18 per night for two people with a caravan. The showers and toilets are very old and need renovation but at least they are cleaned regularly. Very noisy place on Saturday night. Groups of drunk people singing all night, disco until 6am. Crowded place during the day and the beach was full of cars.

Nice little campsite by the lake. Showers and toilets are modest but fine. The campsite is on a slope so you need to keep the camper level to stay. Good and friendly staff. It is under a very busy road which can be a disadvantage if you need peace and quiet. They are full on weekends in the summer. No grey water but chemical drain available. Also a hose with fresh water.

Really nice campsite Stará Hora. Quiet place, close to the port and the Orava dam. There is a small bistro open. Places for tents and caravans. One night for a caravan, 3 people 26 EUR without electricity and water connection. The dam is beautiful, swimming is at your own risk, a refreshment stand. Staff is cool. Older equipment, but clean.

Autocamping prištát c1 green meadow with an area of approximately 15,000 m2, with a few trees. The campsite extends to the shore of the Orava Dam, where you can swim. It is adjacent to the port, where you can rent boats. It is located off the main road, without noise and in silence. Meadow with a beautiful view of the lake, rocky and muddy beach and lots of jet skis. You can park where you want. During the season there are many campers in tents, caravans and cars. Different music plays in each tent and there is a disco right next to the hotel, so I would not recommend it to those looking for relaxation, but I recommend it for party enthusiasts. Price per night in a caravan: 2 adults and a 6-year-old child: €26 (check-out time: 10:00).
